Climate
The climate of East Tennessee is generally mild. Temperature variations between night and day tend to
be moderate during the summer with a difference that can reach 22 degrees Fahrenheit and moderate during the winter with
an average difference of 23 degrees Fahrenheit. The spring and fall are the most beautiful seasons here in the Smoky
Mountains. The area's wild Red Bud and Dogwood trees welcome spring with stunning beautiful pink and white blossoms and

Area Communitites
There are three well-known communities located within minutes of each other in the Smoky Mountains of
East Tennessee. Adjacent to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.
Renowned for its strip of shops and entertainment including local artisans, white-water rafting, ice-skating
and snow skiing at Ober Gatlinburg.
Home of country music star Dolly Parton, has become known as a major entertainment destination with something
for everyone. In addition to fun-filled attractions such as miniature golf, go-carts, water rides and laser games, Pigeon
Forge is home to music, magic and a variety of entertainment theaters and restaurants. One of the most popular attractions
is Dollywood ( http://www.dollywood.com/ ) theme park, which offers
music, food, rides, mountain craft demonstrations and other attractions that showcase life in the Smoky Mountains.
Offers accommodations, shopping, entertainment, attractions, medical services, and Eastern Tennessee mountain
history and culture. Just southeast of Knoxville ( http://www.knoxville.org/ ),
these charming communities are minutes away from additional shopping, an international airport, major medical facilities,
and the University of Tennessee.
The Great Smoky Mountain National Park is the most visited national park in the United States. The Park,
which is world renowned for its diversity of plant and animal life, offers not only more than 800 miles of maintained
trails for hikers, but fishing, car camping and touring, picnicking, and wildlife viewing.
Dollywood
One of the areas most visited attractions, Dollywood theme park spans 125 acres nestled in the lush foothills
of the Great Smoky Mountains. As unique as its namesake, Dolly Parton, the Park offers fun for the entire family. The
Dollywood amusement park rides include the award-winning wooden roller coaster “The Thunderhead” along with kiddie rides
and 10 new family attractions in the expanded Country Fair area. Dollywood's stage shows offer live entertainment, which
showcase the best in country, bluegrass, mountain and gospel music.
Entertainment, Dining and Shopping
East Tennessee is famous for its shopping, dining and entertainment. Restaurants and dinner theaters are
ample throughout Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. The theaters and dinner theaters include the Dixie Stampede,
Wonderworks, Black Bear Jamboree, Fiddler's Feast, Country Tonite and Smith Brothers.
Shop 'til you drop…there are multiple choices for shoppers including Tanger Five Oaks, Belz Outlet Mall,
Red Roof Mall, Walden's Landing and a number of small boutiques. Pick up a Starbucks coffee and visit such stores as
Coldwater Creek, Coach, Tommy Hilfiger, Brooks Brothers, Liz Claiborne, Bath and Body, and Polo Ralph Lauren.
All of the local communities offer a wide variety of dining experiences from local down-home cooking to international
cuisine. There are a wide variety of local and nationally known chain restaurants including, Tony Roma's, Outback, Olive
Garden, Texas Roadhouse, The Old Mill, The Chop House, Red Lobster, Applebee's, Logan's Steakhouse, Brewery, No Way Jose's,
the Park Grill, the Cherokee Grill, the Brewery, Alamo Steakhouse, and Calhouns.
